Yoga Teacher Training Thailand - Reviews
200 hour Hatha & Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training in Thailand registered with Yoga Alliance USA at Yoga Samaadhi – Thailand – RYS 200, 300.
I took their 200-hour TTC held in Chiangmai in October 2018. It was exactly what I had hoped for. The course was holistic and we had a total of 5 teachers for the 18 of us. I really appreciate their dedication and care for each of us. And although teaching was not my primary goal, I felt prepared and encouraged to try. The course definitely gave me a strong foundation for my personal practice going forward.
The 200 hrs Yoga TTC in Chiang Mai was a transformative experience for me. It was a challenge on all levels – physically, mentally and emotionally – but challenges that I welcomed! I felt I grew as a person and in terms of personal direction. My existing yoga practice deepened on several levels; and the Hatha and Ashtanga sessions caused cleansing in unexpected but necessary ways.

I returned for another 200-hour yoga teacher training in February 2025 after having had such an incredible experience when I came as a complete beginner in February 2024. I have found that the yoga school has transformed the way that I show up in all aspects of life (work, friends, relationships) and I fully recommend it to anyone who is curious about reconnecting with themselves and going deeper in their practice (either as a complete beginner or as someone who has been practicing for years). Some of the things that in my mind make Yoga Samaadhi stand out are: - the quality of the teaching - there have been so many penny-drop moments where the cueing, adjustments and teachings have made everything click into place and allowed me to go deeper in both the physical and non-physical aspects of my yoga practice. - the breadth of the course - the course is more than just a bunch of “yoga classes”. The schedule covers all aspects including: pranayama, anatomy, philosophy, mantras, bandhas, mudras, karma yoga and daily meditation. You may find that some of the most powerful impacts of the course come from your time in the classes that aren’t about asanas and perfecting postures. - the setting - you will be in the jungle about an hour away from Chiang Mai. Classes are held in what I can only describe as a massive treehouse, and it’s such a joy to do classes at sunrise and hear and see the jungle wake up around you. It really is a special, peaceful place. The environment makes it so easy to switch off, disconnect from the stresses of life, and discover new perspectives. - the food and hospitality - the staff at Mae Win Guesthouse are such a blessing! They will make you feel so loved and looked after. They do everything for you, so that all you need to do is focus on yourself. The food is such a winner. You’re coming to a traditional yoga school that’s based in northern Thailand so expect lots of fresh, plant-based traditional thai meals, and no alcohol. All of the fruit and veg is grown locally on the farms and you can really taste the difference and the freshness. Coffee is available at breakfast but I’d encourage you to try to do the whole thing without it (when will it ever be easier to return to a life without caffeine?!). I found that caffeine can mask the natural signals your body sends itself (like when you’re tired) and cutting it out helps you to better connect with your body. You might find the same is true for you. - the love and kindness shown by the school - there is so much love and kindness in the way that the school is run. That starts at the top with Hope and Chandra and extends through to the teachers, guest house staff and across the rest of the students. You will find that this sets the tone and creates a space where it feels so easy to open up, explore things that might have been bottled away, have deep conversations, and leave with a completely different perspective and energy for life. It really is a special place. Enjoy every minute! Some other tips: - they say to pack a blanket or jacket for morning/evening classes because it gets cold. No-one thinks it gets cold in Thailand but it really does, especially overnight and in those first couple of classes in the morning. - The meals are so delicious but some people find that they don’t have as much protein as their meals back home. If you think that is important for you, pack some nuts and seeds, or protein powder. Or you can always pick some nuts up from the store next to the yoga school (a bag of nuts costs $1 or £1). - You get out of the course what you put in. You will probably arrive tired and jet-lagged because of the long journey, but go all-in. Get to classes early. Come with an open-mind and open-heart, and a willingness to listen and learn. You will get tired, and that’s normal - listen to your body, take a lunchtime nap, but challenge yourself to commit fully to each class. You’ll notice the difference physically and mentally, and the course will fly by and you’ll miss it when it’s over! :) Lillie-Starr Van Walwyk2025-06-12Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This was one of the most enlightening experiences I have ever had. Being new to yoga, I felt very comforted as well as challenged to deepen my love and appreciation for yoga. Hope is wonderful and amazing and I truly loved each of the teachers. As a non-vegetarian, the food was amazing and always well prepared. I will definitely be coming back to Yoga Samaadhi to complete my 500 hours! Alex Doudy2025-06-09Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had the best 200-hour teacher training experience there! The place is absolutely beautiful, and the Thai people are so lovely. The food was incredible, and the rooms were super comfortable. All the teachers Chandra, Nishant, and Harshi were incredibly kind and supportive! I highly recommend this place. ❤️🙏 Thank you so much!
